After posting a video for the It Gets Better Project and telling my story of surviving bullying and coming out in a small town in the New York Times Bestseller “It Gets Better: Coming Out, Overcoming Bullying and Creating a Life Worth Living,” I began getting requests to visit high schools and universities and talk about the devastating effects of bullying on the LGBT community. My speech “Make It Better: A Guide for Creating a Community of Inclusion Where You Live” is a message that can be encouraging to youth dealing with bullying as well as a teaching tool for the intolerant.
